Charlottesville Wedding | Sami + Shawn

What a dream of a weekend this was. Sami and Shawn’s wedding took me to Charlottesville, Virginia—a drive that winds through mountain views and colorful hillsides just starting to show their fall colors. By the time I arrived, I already knew this was going to be something special.

Their ceremony took place on a hilltop overlooking the rolling Virginia landscape, with a view that seemed to stretch for miles. The leaves were just beginning to turn, painting the edges of the hills with golden tones, and Mary Elizabeth Events brought Sami and Shawn’s vision to life so beautifully. Every detail felt intentional and elegant, perfectly complementing the natural setting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a pretty walk down the aisle—it felt like something out of a movie, with soft light, gentle breeze, and the kind of joy that makes everyone hold their breath for a moment.

The celebration that followed was filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and the kind of dancing that says everyone was exactly where they were meant to be. It was one of those weddings that reminded me why I love what I do—the connection between these two and the energy of the people who love them was just incredible.

We finished out the trip exploring a bit of Charlottesville, visiting Monticello and the University of Virginia, which made the weekend feel like a full experience—part wedding, part fall getaway.

Sami and Shawn’s day was such a beautiful reflection of them: warm, timeless, and full of heart.
