Fall Family | The Giffeys

There’s something so special about photographing a family in the place where they feel most at home. This fall, I drove out to one of my favorite family’s house just as the leaves were starting to let go—twirling through the crisp air and carpeting the yard in all those perfect warm colors. It felt like the whole season had been saving its magic for this very afternoon.

Their boys are growing up so fast, and every time I see them I’m caught off guard by how much bigger they seem, how their personalities have stretched in the sweetest ways. They were filled with so much joy—chasing leaves, climbing over each other, and laughing with the kind of joy that only comes when you’re surrounded by people who adore you.

What made the day even more special was having both sets of grandparents visiting. There’s something so tender about watching generations come together—grandparents holding hands with grandkids, jumping into photos, telling stories, and soaking in the season as a whole family. You could feel how much these boys are loved from every direction.

Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just the pretty colors or the quiet hum of fall settling in—it’s the moments in between. The way a family laughs together. The way they gather close for a hug. The way time feels like it slows down, just for a minute, long enough to capture it.

And I can’t help but smile knowing I’ll be celebrating another family wedding with them soon this spring. It’s such a joy to walk alongside families as they grow, change, and mark new chapters together.
