Equestrian Engagement | Stephanie and Dustin

Stephanie and Dustin’s wedding is right around the corner. I loved getting to hear their story. They met through mutual friends from high school, and started dating while at OSU. Big fans of nature, they got engaged last year at Yellowstone National Park. How I wish I could have been there to photograph it! Stephanie joked that previously to getting engaged, they had watched an investigation show about a husband who had picked a secluded trail to shove his wife off of (on purpose). She joked that when Dustin mentioned finding a trail without a lot of people, she was nervous. But in all seriousness, they are the perfect match for each other. You can tell how Stephanie lights up around Dustin.

Stephanie is a vet and grew up helping take care of horses on her parent’s farm, so the couple toyed around with the idea of having the wedding on their property. It was going to take a lot of effort to get it ready with electricity, so they moved to another location. I’m SO glad that we were able to document the farm during their engagement session. It’s always been a secret dream of mine to take photographs with horses, and it was pretty magical. We got lots of outtakes with some hair nibbling from the horses. They even brought their pup to the session! It was perfect watching them in their element. We’re ready to celebrate in just two months.
