I remember the first time I sat down with Sam. She had rearranged her schedule to meet me at our home instead of the usual coffee shop, so I baked cinnamon rolls and we chatted about life and photography. I took an instant liking to her, and knew that Tommy would be just as sweet. These two met because Sam’s best friend’s husband is Tommy’s best friend. That’s like instant date nights for life! I got so excited as she described The Juniper Rooftop’s aesthetic and how she felt the gold accents seemed very “Great Gatsby-esque”.
The day of the wedding did not disappoint. Sam was STUNNING, we got to photograph in some of our very favorite locations, and Tommy turned out to be as kind as I imagined he would be. The threat of rain even held off for us to visit Genoa Park, the place where they first fell for each other. But despite how perfect each detail of the day came together, I was most floored by Sam and Tommy’s friends and family. People were so accommodating and the bridal party was having SO much fun. It made me happy to see the love that these two are surrounded by. To me, that’s one of the most important things to see on a wedding day, and they had it in spades. Congratulations you guys!
It was one of the windiest days I’ve ever experienced. Kudos to Sam’s sweet friends to literally hold the dress in place for pictures. My favorite behind-the-scenes.
