If you’re dreaming of a wedding that blends timeless elegance with deeply personal moments, Marianne and Colin’s Ohio Statehouse wedding in downtown Columbus was the perfect example of how to do it beautifully. Set inside one of the most iconic wedding venues in Columbus, their day felt like a true celebration of both history and heart.
The Ohio Statehouse was completely transformed thanks to the incredible team at Thyme and Details. While the building itself already offers so much grandeur with its marble columns and historic architecture, the floral and design elements softened the space and added a romantic touch that made it feel uniquely theirs. Every corner looked intentional — warm, inviting, and elevated.
There were so many standout moments from the day, but some of my favorites included the string quartet, and live painter. The moment that truly took everyone’s breath away was during the reception, when Marianne’s brother stood up and serenaded her with the same song that had been sung at their parents’ wedding decades ago. It was a complete surprise to her and an incredibly moving tribute to the love and legacy of their family. It was one of those moments where time stood still, and I don’t think there was a single dry eye in the room.
From the thoughtful details to the emotion that filled every part of the day, this was a wedding that will be remembered for years to come. It was such an honor to capture a love story like theirs, and filled with so many personal, heartfelt touches.
