The Bluestone Wedding | Valerie + Billy

Wedding

Ohio is in the middle of a full-blown heat wave — but if you ask Valerie and Billy, not even 90+ degrees (or tiny fans on the party bus) could cool down the energy of their wedding day.

From start to finish, this day was pure fun — the kind of fun that only happens when you’re surrounded by the best group of friends, the kindest family, and a love story that feels like it was meant to be celebrated.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when we took a break from portraits and made a stop at the R Bar Arena for drinks as a bridal party. Valerie even ended up on the bartop. It felt so them — laid-back, joyful, and focused on soaking in every minute with their people.

The celebration continued at the Bluestone , a venue that holds a special place in Valerie and Billy’s hearts. Over the years, they’ve made so many memories there at concerts together — and as fate would have it, their wedding day landed on the anniversary of one of those shows. I watched Valerie point to the old concert poster on the wall and smile. I have to imagine neither of them pictured themselves back there years later… only this time, dressed to the nines, surrounded by loved ones, and sharing their first dance under those same familiar lights. It was such a full-circle, pinch-me moment.

The day was full of little personal touches — I loved the vibrant pops of color Valerie incorporated throughout her details, and the sweet bond she shared with her sisters. You could feel how much family means to them.

And let’s not forget the 50/50 raffle to riase money for their honeymoon — such a fun idea! The lucky guest who won made everyone’s hearts melt when he generously donated his winnings right back to the couple. A perfect reminder that this day wasn’t just about two people — it was about a whole community rooting for them, supporting them, and celebrating alongside them.

Valerie and Billy, thank you for letting me be part of your day. From bar stools to dance floors, every moment was full of joy — and I have no doubt your life together will be exactly the same.
