Alice and Paul were my very first “pandemic wedding”. In early March of 2020 we were figuring it out together. They stood with just a priest and I in an empty Catholic church, and exchanged vows with their parents watching on Zoom from a tripod. It was one of the most intimate, sweet ceremonies I’ve ever been a part of (and I got to sign as one of the needed witnesses!). It’s only fitting that they also had one of THE craziest dance parties with their friends and family a year and a half later. It doesn’t mean they didn’t face some challenges along the way. From having to switch venues, to enlisting friends as their officiant and dj, they made it work. And it was exactly how it was meant to be. Some of my favorite moments from the night include their pup getting to be a part of their first look, watching Alice’s sisters rap their speech as a surprise, and Paul’s amazing dance with his mom (hello professional ballroom!).
