Katie and Ted were one of my couples whose planned wedding got hit by Covid right at the beginning. I already talked about how their Franklin Park Conservatory elopement was SO dreamy and private and romantic. But they also chose to move their bigger celebration with family and friends to this year. Boy, did they get the best of both worlds. Their sweet, intimate ceremony was just for them, and this year it was time to party. I had already gotten to see Katie’s wedding dress last year, but it was a total surprise to see that her beautiful Mikaella Bridal dress had an additional skirt that she included. When she first bought it, she couldn’t have known she’d have two separate wedding days with two “looks”, but it must have been meant to be. She was beautiful.
Some of my favorite moments included deciding to stop off at Landgrant Brewing Company on a whim with the bridal party (the best, chill day), seeing their ring-bearer get pulled in a wagon down the aisle, and watching the two families come together so close. Katie and Ted’s moms are the cutest thing. They seemed like the best of friends, requesting pictures with each other and coming up with their own nicknames. The Bluewater Kings band kept the dance floor full (we always recommend band! Their energy was insane). Katie and Ted finally got the giant celebration that they deserved. We were happy to be a part of it.
