2020 Year in Review: Weddings

Wedding

Wow, what a year. I had to walk through the disappointment many of my couples felt when they had to postpone or reschedule their day (Thankfully we got to retain everybody who had to reschedule, and now I have double the excitement for 2021!). Nobody knew how to handle their plans in a pandemic, and the beautiful thing is that we all walked through it together. I really treasure the hours I got to spend on the phone with my brides, where we we just talked honestly about what their wedding meant to them. So many beautiful moments have changed the way I look at weddings. I got to watch brides and grooms change their plans – with medium sized weddings with safety precautions, smaller intimate celebrations with just family, and some couples choosing to quietly elope. I got to stand in an empty church where I served as the sole witness in incredibly intimate ceremony. I cried a lot. They cried a lot. We cried together a lot. In a truly horrible year, I am so lucky to be able to look back on such beauty in these moments.
