Bootlegger Farm Engagement | Kristi and Kyle

This was maybe one of the coldest/windiest sessions I’ve ever done, and EVERY SECOND was worth it. I first met Kristi at her twin sister’s wedding (Hi Katie and Nick!). I was so thrilled to hear from Kristi and get to document this beautiful family again.

Kristi and Kyle live in North Carolina, so we Skyped as I got to know their story. They had the familiar story of going to the same high-school, but not really knowing each other. It wasn’t until they were both counselors at the YMCA (I feel like they probably both made amazing counselors) that they hung out. They laughed as they told me that Kristi thought it would just be a summer fling, but started to change her mind when she got flowers delivered to her dorm her first day back at school. Her dorm residents wanted to know when they would meet their “Dad”.

We finally got to meet up in person during their holiday travels, and take some pictures on their friends’ newly purchased farm, affectionately called the Bootlegger Farm. I loved hearing the history of the farm. Apparently the old owners used to illegally distill whiskey and sell it to Delaware hotels. To cover up the smell, chickens took up shop on the first floor of the farmhouse. We had so much fun exploring the creek, the amazing gigantic oak tree, and the greenhouse, that we forgot how cold it was. I can’t wait for their wedding next summer!
