I felt honored to be at Erin and Sean’s backyard wedding last September. Sean is in the military, and it made sense for these two to get married when they did. But they still needed a chance to celebrate with their family and friends! We were so happy to be there and document it all.
Some of my favorite moments from the day included the saber arch as the couple left the church (you should have seen Erin’s face when the last sword gave her a pat on the way out!) It was so cute; they had to stop and kiss before each sword to keep going. Erin had the sweetest bridesmaids, and I love how her maids of honor presented her with a hand-made box full of letters from important people in her life after she got in her dress. That is the stuff that gets me teary-eyed. And I loved walking in to their beautiful reception, that was filled to the brim with flowers from Whimsy Weddings and Events. The style is very similar to my own, and that dusty-blue color is a DREAM to photograph.
But beyond all those special touches, what really struck me the most on the day was the relationship between Sean and Erin. They are probably some of the kindest people you can meet. Erin always has a huge smile on her face, and Sean gave one of the realest thank-you speeches to his guests. They are a true team, and you can tell that they know they only got where they were with the support of all the people who love them. Congratulations you two!
