I sat down with Katherine for coffee last year, and she told me her vision for her wedding day. I can still remember how excited I was when she told me she would be getting married at the Athletic Club, and that her girls would be wearing lace tops with red tulle skirts. It sounded so classy and beautiful, and when the day finally came, it did not disappoint!
Katherine is incredibly sweet and kind, and I loved laughing and just goofing around with Mike and his groomsmen. There were so many incredible moment during the day. Katherine and Mike wrote to each other before the wedding, and when Mike saw that Katherine had been writing in a journal to him over many months he lost it. When I arrived, she was writing an entry for the day they were getting married, and she plans to keep doing it. Is that not the sweetest thing you’ve ever heard? The Athletic Club was just GORGEOUS and I loved the staircase and mantel full of florals. It was also our first time witnessing a cake sabering with the help of Jan Kish – and it was amazing. Every detail was perfect, but that didn’t even matter. You can tell how much love is between Katherine and Mike, and I knew that their focus was solely on each other.
We snuck down to the basement to capture some pictures of the bowling alley – where the party was going to continue even after the reception. So much fun!
