Lauren and Jake read their personal vows to each other back to back before they had a first look. This is something that always gets me. When a couple leaves the hustle-and-bustle of the wedding day, and has a private moment with just the two of them (and me). It’s usually when I see the most emotion. The bride who has been feeling nervous and sick softens as soon as she sees he’s there. The groom tears up in a way he doesn’t do in front of all the guests.
Even though I’ve only known Lauren and Jake for a short amount of time, we just did their engagement session a few weeks ago, it feels like I’ve known them forever. The two of them turning around to see each other for the first time felt like it was always meant to happen. We’re so happy that we got to be there to witness their wedding and all of the love their family and friends have for them. I loved many things about the day: watching their friends pray for them before the ceremony, seeing the special relationship they had with their siblings, and choreographed line-dancing lessons from a Nyoh’s instructor. It was absolutely perfect.
