Mary and Logan Engagement

Engagement

I took a photo of Mary dancing to music, twirling her skirt with her long hair wrapping around her. I took it last year, before Mary and Logan even got engaged. Having shot weddings for several years now, means that we get to the good part. I get to shoot sisters and friends of past brides. When they contact me because they have gotten engaged now too, I do my own little happy dance. You may remember Sami and Caleb’s wedding from last year. When I got contacted by her sister, I felt like I already knew Mary and I already had a glimpse of what a happy and creative soul she is. Plus I was really excited about her hair. When I got to see more of Logan and Mary’s dynamic together I got to see more of that joy. I’m so happy to be a part of their wedding this year.

When you shoot some of the most beautiful moments in life, whether it’s at weddings or around birth, you start to feel like you are part of someone’s family. You know what happens in the background beforehand, you capture tears. To know that you have done a good enough job to be invited back into that space again is a great honor.
